A simple, capable solution

If only everything were as easy as flicking a switch for electricity, turning a tap for water, or tapping a phone to send a message to the other side of the world… What if backing up your data became (almost) that simple?

Our web interface is responsive and comfortable to use.
Thanks to block-level delta, you can back up your clients' data even where their internet connection is slow.
Our technicians can be reached from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
If data is lost, the restore can draw on several sources: the local backup if it is enabled, or one of the servers holding the backup.
The initial backup can be made to a USB hard drive, then transferred manually to the BeBackup server or over a fibre connection.
Backup reports are customisable and sent automatically by email, according to rules you set.
All the backups of a PC or a server are held in a BeBackup archive, a single file that is easy to handle when maintaining servers.
Effective deduplication: a file present several times on a backed-up machine is transferred and stored only once.
Network disconnections and reconnections are handled automatically.
Network shares can be backed up, with access handled internally.

A solution that encrypts your data

Data is encrypted at source by the backup agent, with an independent key set in the BeBackup agent's configuration.
For added security, the encryption key is itself encrypted and stays on the agent, never travelling over the network.
Communication between the agents and the BeBackup servers runs over SSL/TLS 1.2 channels carrying a packet-exchange protocol encrypted with AES-256. The AES-256 keys change several times per second.
The blocks stored on the server are checked regularly, to make sure the data does not degrade over time.

On the server side, our software saves storage space

Block-level delta mode: the agents send back only the parts of files that have changed since the previous backup.
Deduplication on the agent: if a file has already been backed up, it is not sent again.
Deduplication on the server: several identical files are stored only once. When a duplicated file is modified, only the changed blocks are stored.
Compression: blocks, whether initial or changed, are compressed at source before being transmitted and stored.
Optimised transfers: backup and restore handle several files in parallel, to make the most of available throughput.
Automatic purge: after each backup, the initial backup is recomputed to purge data that is no longer needed.

The real gain depends on your estate: a uniform fleet of Windows workstations deduplicates a great deal, a set of file servers with unique content deduplicates less. Rather than quote an average percentage that would match nobody, the backup report tells you the volume actually saved, medium by medium.
